Investment Thesis 1.0

DWP Capitals Investment Thesis as of Oct 27 2021

In a previous post, I mentioned that I am applying to the Kauffman Fellows program. The enrollment application had me think deeper about how I invest, and as a result, I decided I needed to clarify my investment thesis. So, after many iterations and feedback loops, I developed DWP Capitals Investment Thesis 1.0. Below will be a short-form version. I am on planning on expanding it to clarify better how I evaluate opportunities.

“DWP Capital is an early-stage growth equity firm that invests in vertical software and tech-enabled services. We typically invest in late seed to Series A deals with initial check sizes of $1-$3M. We will lead rounds and/or be part of a syndicate.

We invest in vertical SaaS and service companies that solve real business problems. We believe in a capital-efficient, niche-focused approach that allows the founders we invest in to become market-dominant in their respective target markets.

We support founders that believe in responsible growth with profitable economics. We want what is best for founders, employees, and customers as well as shareholders. We believe that company building is a team sport, and we want our founders to know that we are wearing the same jersey.” —

I would love to hear everyone’s feedback on it. Please shoot me a line!
