Going into 2023 I wanted to brush up on my understanding of the fundamentals of Gartner’s “Hype Cycle.” The hype cycle is a graphical representation of the maturity, adoption, and social application of specific technologies. The purpose of this exercise was to figure out where I wanted to spend my time looking for opportunities.

Seeing that we are in a tech bear market it is important to ensure that my bets are not too early. All signs to me look like I am headed to data analytics, reporting, and applied AI.
