About David

More About Yours Truly...

I grew up in New Orleans, and now I divide my time between the sunny locales of Phoenix and Carlsbad. I have three young daughters and am luckily still married. As an early stage technology investor, I have experienced notable success with investments in companies like PetDesk, Attribytes, and Allbound. My investments are made through DWP Capital, and I also invest angel checks. While writing may not be my strongest suit, I am a pretty good podcaster.

2011

2011

From 2011 to 2016, I founded South Florida Home Care, a healthcare services agency. While I may not have been the best CEO on the planet, I strived to provide a commendable service and eventually sold the company to a strategic acquirer.

2016

2016

In 2016, I joined Canal Partners (2016-2020), a multi-family office specializing in growth capital opportunities, after working at seed-stage venture fund Tallwave Capital as an Associate (2015-2016). During my five-year tenure at Canal Partners, I was jointly responsible for software investing. In addition, I was one of two lead partners for seven investments, serving on the board of directors of 6 companies.

2021

2021

In 2021, I founded DWP Capital with the vision of creating a movement centered around funding early-stage software companies. Our focus lies in supporting ventures that have a deliberate approach to developing products in niche markets and capitalizing on them, providing multiple opportunities for earlier liquidity.

My Modus Operendi

I get up early, like really early—truly, at an unfathomable hour. As part of my morning ritual, I engage in expressive writing to bring clarity to the labyrinth of my thoughts. Delving into topics encompassing startups, investing, and personal growth. People seem to like it.
