Weekend Reads and Listens – Happy Bunny Day and PRP Treatment

I hope everyone is having a good easter weekend. My week has been one long weeks as my kids had COVID and I have been entertaining them. Babysitter is coming today so I am looking forward to some rest and relaxation with the wife hopefully. Here are the things I have been reading and listening to this weekend.

Reads ?:

Bill Gates Letter on AI– AI is most innovative thing he has ever seen since Windows. Nice Bill.

Substack on Market Sizing. I am 90% there on how he comes to his calculations. Still the best thing I have seen for founders to show TAM.

Rock Healths Q1 Digital Health Funding Report. The funny thing was that the majority of funding went to nursing marketplaces which I spoke about in my nursing shortage marketmap is a short-term innovation.

Eric Terictarczynski writes about things he wish he did when starting his venture firm- TL;DL Logo Hunting. To me this is the exact opposite of my mindset at DWP Capital and candidly is gross. I did like how articulate he was talking about his point of view. Always good to look at both sides.

Burn Multiple for Startups in 2023 by Tomasz Tunguz.

Listens ?:

Howard Lindzon interviews Barry Ritholtz of Ritholtz Wealth Management- a ginormous RIA with a big content presence. It made me rethink the value of private wealth management. There is a lot of value for people keeping you in the market and not letting you trade on emotion.

Purchases ?:

My family signed up for Concierge Medicine with Health Matters this year. It is a monthly subscription that has paid dividends. With the membership, I have complete access to my naturopath who helps me with wellness and treats my illnesses. Going to the doctor’s office has finally become a pleasurable experience instead of a chore.

My most recent health endeavor was PRP (Platelet-rich plasma) treatment for my torn ligament in my foot which had not been healing. During the procedure, the doctor took some of blood, spun it in a centrifuge, and put it back into the damaged area which helped immensely. The results are unbelievable! If you can afford it, I would recommend concierge medicine practice to anyone.

I get up early, like really early—truly, at an unfathomable hour. As part of my morning ritual, I engage in expressive writing to bring clarity to the labyrinth of my thoughts. Delving into topics encompassing startups, investing, and personal growth. People seem to like it.
