I have no entered the third year of The Capital Stack Podcast. Something that started with the intent of doing just 10 episodes really became a part of my weekly workflow. I have interviewed over 100 guests with no duplicates so far. I will say that I am far from having a “blockbuster hit” of a show, though I do have a smaller niche audience that seems to like it. Here is what I’ve learned from-
- Consistency is everything.
- The more you do the better you become.
- Podcasting, like most everything, is a series of re-dedications. You will have to continue to commit to the craft to ensure that it still excites you.
- Big star guests don’t mean anything. I’ve had better quality episodes with less known people.
- Interviewing is one of the best tools in my tool kit for getting smarter on certain topics and industries.
- Asking for referrals for new guests has 10x’d my network.
- Everyone likes talking about themselves.
- To establish consistency, I have to have meaningful conversations with individuals who share my interests and exchange ideas on the topics that captivate me.
- The second I feel like this is work is when I am going to stop doing it.
Here is to another 100 episodes of the Capital Stack!
