Mercado Makers – A Trip to Rancho Feliz

Last week, Patrick Armstrong and I led a group of 35 entrepreneurs and investors on a service work trip to Aqua Prieta, Mexico, at Rancho Feliz. Rancho Feliz is a non-profit organization committed to selfless service without any hidden agendas. I have been volunteering at this organization for the past few years, and it has had a significant impact on my life and the lives of my family members.

Patrick and I named the group Mercado Makers which as an homage to the entrepreneurial spirit of “market making.” We have volunteers from all across the country within our network including California, Georgia, and Florida. We got dirty and worked on three home building in the projects as well as fed 1,000 families for a food distribution.

This trip is now going to be an annual recurrence and we welcome anyone to come along. Here is a link to the photos.

I get up early, like really early—truly, at an unfathomable hour. As part of my morning ritual, I engage in expressive writing to bring clarity to the labyrinth of my thoughts. Delving into topics encompassing startups, investing, and personal growth. People seem to like it.
