My Weekend in Agua Prieta and the Week Ahead!

I had a great weekend. I snuck aboard a scholarship trip to Rancho Feliz in Agua Prieta, Mexico. Rancho Feliz is a non-profit organization that provides a retreat-like experience for small groups to serve in an incredibly underserved border town on the Arizona/Mexico border. The experience includes:

  • Building homes with bare hands in the barrio.

  • Participating in a food drive (pictured above).

  • Eating phenomenal Mexican food.

What this trip does for me is that it allows me to get perspective on my life, both business and personal. I am truly blessed and privileged to be born in the United States. Getting down to Agua Prieta (translation is Dirty Water), I think much less about myself and more about the world around me. Onward.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving week with your family. We are heads down at DWP Capital, working through a potential deal until Thanksgiving Day. On Friday, I am flying off to my hometown New Orleans for a baptism. This week will result in a calorie surplus for sure!

I get up early, like really early—truly, at an unfathomable hour. As part of my morning ritual, I engage in expressive writing to bring clarity to the labyrinth of my thoughts. Delving into topics encompassing startups, investing, and personal growth. People seem to like it.
